Here and now in Torsboda

The first developers of the industrial park are working with their permits and Torsboda Industrial Park's work with infrastructure and to attract more establishments continues. Christian Söderberg, CEO of Torsboda Industrial Park, answers a few questions here:

How is the work going with the first installer?

“Our first developer, PTL, is awaiting notification of an environmental permit from the Land and Environment Court and the approval of the investment from the agency ISP, the Swedish Strategic Products Inspectorate. Only when PTL gets a yes from the ISP can we complete the land deal with them. Information from the ISP should come in the autumn, by December at the latest.

The law ISP handles, foreign direct investment review, came into force in December 2023, after Torsboda signed agreement with PTL. What does that entail?

“Since the law did not exist when we signed the agreement with PTL, we have had to make an additional agreement. The latest date for buyer admission has now been moved from the last of July to the last of December this year. The original contract stipulates that the date can be changed if the parties agree.

What else do you do in the company?

“We at Torsboda Industrial Park are working to ensure that more industries will be established here. We are tasked with attracting companies that contribute to the green transition and that provide many jobs per square metre and megawatt. Work on infrastructure for the industrial park is also ongoing, and there we cooperate with, among others, Mid Sweden Water and Waste, E.ON and the Swedish Transport Administration. A lot of balls are in the air and it's fun!
